Frequently Asked Questions:

Can I apply to more than one ICGEB fellowship call at the same time?

Only one application per call is accepted for each candidate, and you should choose the call that most closely matches your current career stage and nationality rather than submitting several at once.

Do I need a confirmed supervisor before applying?

Yes. The Expression of Interest stage is where you identify your prospective ICGEB supervisor, and their confirmation is what allows you to move forward to the Full Application stage.

Is financial support available for family members who accompany a fellow?

No. ICGEB fellowships provide no financial provision and cannot offer administrative support for family members of any participant in the programme.

What happens if I am not selected?

You will still be notified by email once the selection process concludes. Because of the high volume of applications, individual feedback is not provided to unsuccessful candidates.

Where are the ICGEB laboratories located?

Fellows are placed in one of three locations depending on the call and their preference: Trieste in Italy, New Delhi in India, or Cape Town in South Africa.
